Brandy has the PlayStation game Guitar Hero and she, William and Tanya were really rocking out on it. Needless to say, I am two left hands on that game. Brandy was really good and William and Tanya were right behind her. It was fun to watch!

Here is Santa flying his airplane into our yard. This is our favorite new toy for the holidays. We had to drive to more than one Garden Ridge to get it but it was worth the trip.

I went to Jacksonville on an overnight and I got to finally see Neal, Alicia, and Drew. It was nice to be able to see them since I wasn't in Lafayette when they were down there. Drew is too cute for words. Neal thinks he's going to be a photographer because he loves taking pictures. It was great seeing them.
Keith and I went Christmas tree shopping today. We went to a place where a person can catch a bus and it takes you out to a farm and you can cut down your own tree. We decided not to do that mostly because we are lazy! It always sounds better than the reality of doing it plus the bus always has a lot of kids on it and seems like it might be noisy. We bought us a Caanan Fir already cut and ready to go. Our house is really starting to explode Christmas.

Here are me and my sisters, two of my favorite people in the world. Being with them is always fun and lots of laughter, usually over things most people would not find funny. It is not that we are a lot alike but I love that we are so different. We each bring something new to each other and I constantly learn from Jenna and Christine. Each one inspires me in different ways to be a better person and to keep achieving more. I always turn to them for advice on just about everything because I value their opinions and their experience. We do not get to choose our family like we do our friends but if I could, I would make the same choice. It is obvious God knew what she was doing when she gave me my sisters. I love you girls, more than you can ever know and I am thankful everyday for the both of you.

Carolyn is another reason I am thankful for best friends. Not a lot of people know that Carolyn saved me at a really tough time in my life and ever after, she is my hero. Carolyn taught me that women can be tough, loving and independent. I have known her and her family for over twenty years and they are the best! I love you, girls! I can't wait for next summer.

I haven't known Karen as long (about 15 years or so) but I feel as though she is a long, lost sister. This wonderful woman constantly lets me vent to her about everything and I can't think of a better reason to be thankful for a best friend like her. She has a husband who always brings a smile to my face and boys that are too cute for words. I love you, Karen.
Though I am choosing this time to be thankful for friends, I am grateful every single day for all the great friends I have and count them as family. Though I move around, they keep up with me one way or another and still count me as their best friend. I can't wait to be back here so that we can start cuttin' up again. Have a great holiday and enjoy everyone.

Here I am with my best friend, Pam. She and I have been friends for almost 30 years. We have some great memories together. Though Thanksgiving is my least favorite holiday for a host of reasons, I will spend this week being extra thankful for all the blessings in my life. Pam is one of the most beautiful blessings I have. She is someone that can always make me laugh even in the worst of times and in my book, that is an amazing attribute in someone. I am extra thankful for my friendship with Pam, her beautiful girls and busy husband!!! Pam, I love you girl and we are going to have a great 30th reunion when the time comes.

Today, the boys started putting up the lights outside. Yes, I know it is before Thanksgiving but Keith has been gone so much that we need to get stuff done while we can. I don't watch because I can't stand to see them so high up but Kyle kindly took this picture on his phone so he could scare me.

In the truest sense, freedom cannot be bestowed, it must be achieved.

Franklin D. Roosevelt

Today is Veteran's Day and a time to remember all of those who fought so that we can enjoy the freedoms we have today. The picture is my Uncle Warren, my mother's uncle, who was stationed on the USS San Francisco at Pearl Harbor on Dec. 7, 1941. Luckily, he was on leave and not at the base when the attack occurred. I just want to express my gratitude to all the men and women who have fought and continue to fight for our freedom. I will definitely give thanks to one certain military man I know! Thanks, Keith, for giving so much to this country.

This time it was Keith's turn to promote someone else. Our friend A.J. was promoted from Captain to Major and asked Keith to give him the oath. I went to watch and see how Keith did and I was impressed. It was also the first time I was around military people calling him Colonel Thibodeaux. It seems like yesterday that Keith was a Lt. and Lt. Col seemed very far away. Time sure does go fast.

Happy Birthday, Lil' Blaine. I hope it is as much fun as you are. We love you!
