Josh came in yesterday for our shindig on Monday and we were so happy to see him. Josh, Kyle, Chris (a friend of Josh's from Charleston when they were in the seventh grade) and I went see the movie School for Scoundrels late on Friday night. It was the highlight of my week. This was something me and the boys used to do back in the day. I was reminded last night how lucky I am to have the absolute best sons in the world. They are fun, crazy, witty and most of all, loving to me. Life does not get much better than this.

Kyle as Peter Pan. Only Bubba could make Peter Pan look so darn good. This is for spirit week at the high school during homecoming. Finding a Disney costume for a grown boy is quite an undertaking. So anyone needing to borrow it, you are more than welcome!

Happy Birthday to Jenna. She and I were recently talking about birthdays and getting older but when I am with her, it seems like time does not really change. She is the one person who can make me laugh about anything just as we did many, many years ago. I wish her the most wonderful birthday because each one is more precious than the last. I love you so much, sis. I wish I could be there with you today.

Neal called with some cool news. Drew is going to have a little sister or brother in about 9 months. There is nothing more precious than a new baby coming into the family. Congrats to Neal and Alishia.

This is a big pot of Gumbo that Michelle is making in Indianapolis for John and his family. Up here we are experiencing some real gumbo weather with highs in the 60's and lows in the 40's. It is only the middle of September so I am getting scared what November is going to look like. So Michelle, when you get home get ready to make me a gumbo! I am already inviting guests.

ever wonder why
for the things that happen
or why people die
and why does life feel like its nappen

Where is the joy
so much violence and anger
life is more than a mere toy
this world is in danger

how does life go on
when there is so much greed
how is there a dawn
when everybody is high on weed

what is to become of us
if there is no trust
everybody is in a big fuss
seems like that is a must

when will this stop
when is there hope
when will we reach the top
when will there be no more dope

who will save us
who will be trustworthy
who will stop the fuss
who sees the glory

the answer is up to you
stop saying why me
and get a clue
and be the key

A couple of months ago, my boss, John, from Knology in Charleston came to St. Louis and Keith and I went meet him and his wife at Landrys for dinner. It was fun to reminisce with him about my working days. I really think that was the best job I ever had and the best group of people I ever worked with except when I worked with my best friend Karen and when I worked with my friends Hope, Ceci and Scarlett. I love to work with people that make me laugh! Sometimes I miss Charleston even though I am having a good time here.

Keith is quite into Texas Hold'em and so decided to build his own poker table. Here it is. I think it looks like a professional made it. A professional what, I don't know. My husband is a skilled man! I see a tournament at our house in the near future. Hopefully Keith will win so that he can pay for this table...

Happy September, everyone. Can you believe it is already here?
These are some Bandidos we saw on the road and they were pretty tough looking. The guys had Bandidos on the back of their jackets but the chick had "Property" written on the back of hers. Apparently equal rights does not extend itself to the Bandidos. It was quite a sight.
