Yesterday was Keith's Change of Command and it was bittersweet. His good friend Jim came in from California to attend. Jim is always there to support Keith and we are lucky that he has family in Charleston so we will continue to see him often. Jim is the best!
It is bittersweet because Keith is sad and I am so happy. Keith loved his job here but I know we are off to bigger things and better places!

That is Col. Hafer pinning on the Meritorious Service Medal that Keith was awarded during the ceremony. He has been a great friend to Keith also while Keith was Commander and he speaks really well and said wonderful things about Keith. Even I got choked up.

On the right is the new commander and that is Keith giving it up in the middle. It is kind of a weird ceremony where the old commander and his wife are banished afterwards so we had to go straight to our car and leave. Do not pass Go....
But it went well and Keith will work in the Headquarters office for a while before we leave. Sometimes I say this happens to fast but right now I am saying this is not happening fast enough, probably cause I want to get closer to the sun!

This is my fourth quilt that I have made. It is called a Memory Quilt.

I wanted to do one with pictures of the kids (of course) and I picked our Christmas pictures from a couple of years ago cause they are some of my favorites. Besides the kids looking good, it brings back good memories of the fun time we had out there taking the pictures and what good sports my children are to get all dressed up in the middle of the week, (wasn't it Halloween) and drag themselves around for my benefit.
It is not a very big quilt because I plan on hanging it on the wall somewhere after I finish the backing on it. It did not take to long to make and I love anything to do with pictures. This will probably always be my favorite quilt.

Well, Kyle has done it again. This time in the Lake Charles newspaper. He made the front page cheering on the McNeese Cowboys wearing that same old blue paint on that skinny chest of his. I don't know how many times this makes it for him but there must be something quite photogenic about him. I couldn't copy the paper so I had to take a picture of the picture. Go Kyle!
